Last month, Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico. The storm wiped out 80% of the agriculture industry and the entire power grid for the island. Over 3.5 million people are in need of food, water, shelter, and other necessities.
During October, Atlantic Coast Mortgage is committed to doing what we can to offer relief to those impacted by Hurricane Maria.
Join Atlantic Coast Mortgage in Donating to World Central Kitchen
José Andrés, a local celebrity chef and founder of the World Central Kitchen, is on the ground in Puerto Rico. Chef Andrés founded the World Central Kitchen nonprofit as a solution for hunger and poverty after the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti. He’s now spearheading an operation in Puerto Rico that’s making a difference.
Chef Andrés and the World Central Kitchen went from running a single kitchen out of a restaurant in Puerto Rico to a much larger coordinated effort that’s reaching thousands of families in need across the island. Through a combination of emergency kitchens and food trucks, World Central Kitchen has been able to feed as much as 50,000+ people within a week.
If you’re interested in giving to the cause, join Atlantic Coast Mortgage in supporting the Hurricane Maria relief efforts by donating to World Central Kitchen. Your donation will provide food to hospitals, elderly homes, first responders, and other families in need.
Use the #ChefsForPuertoRico hashtag on social media to get the word out about the cause.
Throughout the month of October, our company-wide goal is to donate $25,000 to relief efforts. Atlantic Coast Mortgage will be matching the first $10,000 contributions.

The Heart Behind Atlantic Coast Mortgage
Giving back to our community and children in need throughout the year is dear to us.
In addition to giving emergency donations to Puerto Rico, Atlantic Coast Mortgage proudly supports the Children’s National Health System with annual donations and serves as a drop-off location for Dr. Bear’s Closet, an initiative that collects holiday and birthday gifts for children being treated in hospitals and health centers.
“It’s so hard for kids to be in the hospital – and even harder around the holidays. If they can smile and forget they’re sick and be a normal joyful child again, even for a second, it’s so worth it.” ~ Thad Musser, SVP & Loan Originator
